Working towards the world's best tourism and hospitality education network by connecting faculty and students to industry, and to each other.
Save the Date: Tourism Education Futures Institute World Congress May 2011Back To News August 30th, 2010
Tourism and hospitality educators from across BC are encouraged to save May 18 - 21, 2011 in their calendars for the Tourism Education Futures Institute (TEFI) World Congress.
Entitled "Activating Change in Tourism Education", the congress will be held at Temple University in Philadelphia. The Tourism Education Futures Institute (TEFI) is a community of tourism educators, in partnership with the tourism industry and other stakeholders, seeking to provide leadership and responsible stewardship through new paradigms of values-based education.
Attendees will include tourism and hospitality educators; deans and department heads; tourism industry visionaries and futurists; educational theorists; and higher level administrators and curriculum developers interested in the tourism domain.
This is an opportunity for a BC contingent to contribute to the conversation about change in tourism education; to share research on this topic; to network with other tourism educators and industry visionaries seeking to affect change in the global tourism industry.
Following the congress, the BEST Education Network Think Tank XI "Learning for Sustainable Tourism" will take place May 21-25, 2011 also at Temple University immediately following the TEFI World Congress.
